On UN World Refugee Day the Central Library will be hosting an
event for the community to learn about the plight of refugees globally
and what the resettlement process is like in the United States.
evening will begin with people being able to arrive early (starting at
5:45pm) and experience the Za’atari Syrian refugee camp in Jordan
through our virtual reality tools. The event itself will start with two
short documentary clips, Life On Hold from Amnesty International, and
then remarks from the organizations International Rescue Committee and
SB Community Aiding Refugees Effort. The remainder of the evening will
be a Q&A for the community to engage with panelists about the work
they do for and with refugees.
